The Fruit Foundation Historical Society is a nonprofit organization founded in 2004 for the purpose of preserving the story of the fruit industry and the people who built that industry in the Hood River Valley and the surrounding Mid-Columbia region. The venue that the Foundation chooses to accomplish this task is through a Fruit Heritage Museum that is scheduled to open in the future. The museum will be located in the Pine Grove Community of the Hood River Valley in a historical cold storage and fruit packing facility which was built in the 1930's with views of orchards, vineyards, Mt.
